Galeries Lafayette gets off to bumpy start in India
The department store chain was supposed to open two large outlets in Mumbai and New Delhi this year, thus gaining a foothold in a market that could offset the group's difficulties in France. But nothing is going according to plan and this strategic project, which the company has been working on since 2016, has been delayed by over a year.
